Ramaphosa in Sosh

The deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa visits the community of Soshanguve at Halala community hall on the 3 October 2015 at the Youth Development Expo, aiming to equip the disadvantaged youth from the areas with broad range of information about education and vocational opportunities that can change their lives for the better.

The community came in numbers irragadless of their age, as many believe that, there must be something unique or of importance about their township for them to be visited by highly prominent parliament member.

Although to some it was just for the “goodies” they received from the expo. Many can agree with me if I were to say that the people have lost hope in our government, more especially the ruling party itself. But then, people believe what they believe, and when they are feed up with empty promises they will just sit back, relax and watch everything pass them by.

The Expo has raise many question like; “is the ruling party doing this for us because they want our vote? Are they doing this for us because they believe that we too dump to fall for their lies over and over again?”

Yes, some people are just too happy until this day, about our beloved uncle “Tshepo ten thousand” that just uplifted the lives of many youth around the city of Tshwane.

The advice were offered to Young people about career choices and relevant school subjects; access to education and training; how to make positive lifestyle choices, avoid the dangers of substance and maintain healthy personal relationships.

But, there is that one question that can only be answered by the most affected, the Youth of Soshanguve, “Will the development Expo change their lives for the better?”

The heart of the paper man

He is an ordinary old man, with white hair and a loving heart.  Well known as the paper man in the township. He would go around the township delivering the old newspapers to his friend, in exchange for a cup of rooibos tea, and few jokes. He had his own unique knock, “I’m the news, if you don’t open the door I’m passing”.  Most people loved him, more especially retired old ladies. Oh! Madam, may I find comfort in your comfortable home, I promise I will not bother you nor spoil your day. I just want to put my “bum” to rest. Collecting newspapers is not an easy job, it is so tiring. My throat is dry, like a hot dry summer. I would love to have some rooibos tea that is specially made by you for me, only me my lady. After having the tea he would move to the next, and then the next house, until the sun set. One day he went to this other lady’s house, unfortunately the old lady was not there, he found her beautiful girl. The paper man’s heart was skipped a bit, “I have never seen such beauty in my life. Lady what can the paper man do for you”. The lady replied. I do not have interest in the old newspapers. I love magazines. The paper man runs out of the house to go look for old magazines. After some few minutes he returned with the bundle of old magazine. Sadly he found the beautiful lady with her husband discussing their wedding. The paper man was so sad; he walked down the street singing a sad love song.
